World of Concrete Europe
A European version of the exhibition has been proposed
A
European version of the World
of Concrete exhibition is being
developed by Hanley Wood, the
organiser of the US event, in partnership
with SE Intermat, which organises the
tri-annual Intermat construction equipment
exhibition in Paris, France.
The two organisers have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop the new event,
which would be known as World of Concrete Europe.
The news of the European proposal comes after Hanley Wood held the first World of Concrete
India this year, from 24 to 26 October, in Hyderabad.
It has confirmed that a second edition of this show will take place from 16 to 18 October,
2014, also at the HITEX Exhibitions Center in Hyderabad.
The Indian edition is jointly organised by Hanley Wood and Inter Ads Exhibitions, India,
supported by the Indian Concrete Institute.
World of Concrete Europe will be piloted by event organiser Comexposium, which works with
SE Intermat.
SE Intermat is an umbrella organisation bringing together the trade associations for
manufacturers and importers – the Association of Equipment Manufacturers for Construction,
Infrastructure, Steel & Handling Equipment Industries (CISMA), the Association of International
Civil Engineering, Mining, Construction & Hoisting Equipment Industries (SEIMAT) and
Comexposium.
Trade associations CISMA and SEIMAT are supporting World of Concrete Europe. A date for
the new show has yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Subaru Industrial Engines will exhibit two new
big block V-Twin engines at World of Concrete – the 35 hp
(25.7 kW) H90 and 40 hp (29.4 kW) EH99. The petrol engines
are designed for smaller machines such as concrete polishers,
riding trowels, utility vehicles, mowers and ride-on blowers.
Technology includes temperature sensors located on the
engine heads which have an optional engine shutoff to prevent
any damage from overheating, while a low oil pressure sensor
allows equipment manufacturers to offer control panel alerts or
automatic engine shutoff.
The models also feature dual element air filters that protect
the engine from dust and reduce maintenance, and a pressurised
lubrication system.
“Everybody knows it is not a safe work to go inside the mixer
to do maintenance. So the best way is opening the side doors,
standing outside to finish the work,” the company said.
On top of safety advantages, Handex also says the design
improves efficiency. It said it required one person working
for one day to change the lining plate for the mixer, instead
of two people working over two or three days.
The manufacturer said the Side Door Twin-Shaft mixer
also features an automatic lubricating system and a self-
wash out system, among other technology.
