The first International Tower Cranes conference was held in London UK in 2011. Industry professionals from around the world attended the one-day conference and networking event.
The inaugural conference and dinner for the global tower crane industry, launched by International Cranes and Specialized Transport, and its publisher KHL Group was held to great acclaim in London, UK on May 12 2011.
Some 150 delegates from across the world attended the networking, business information and social event for leaders and senior managers of all tower crane users, and their suppliers and manufacturers.
Held at the five star Grange St Paul’s hotel International Tower Cranes 2011 focused on best practice worldwide, safety and the development of common international standards, regulations and work practices.
Presentations came from 17 leading industry professionals who shared their knowledge on a range of key topics affecting the industry. The conference also received strong support from, among others, the UK Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) and its respected Tower Crane Interest Group (TCIG). The CPA and the TCIG used International Tower Cranes 2011 to launch a report and new guidelines on climbing.
Other related topics included counterfeit parts, causes of accidents and the development of equipment. The economy also featured heavily, with discussions on market trends and the importance of emerging nations.
