spans 50 feet, while the twin-mast version’s
live load capacity is up to 13,000 pounds and
spans 120 feet.
Powered by common 240-volt, three-phase
service, SafRise raises the bar not only in
versatility and worker productivity, but also
in terms of safety, the company says. “At the
heart of the design of this system is a unique,
controlled-descent-failsafe feature to ensure
worker safety. Other safety systems usually
stop altogether – leaving crews and materials
stuck. SafRise can safely lower the platform to
the ground, even without power.”
Fraco’s newest product launch was its SEM
Series, a material hoist only which is inspired
from its SEH Series construction hoist. “Also,
we have developed a rescue unit that can be
used by mining companies for underground
emergency situations,” Lainé says. “That new
product was presented at the last CIM expo
in Vancouver, Canada and it has been well
received.”
Klimer’s newest kid on the block is the
KTP-5 Transport Platform, which is a TP with
higher capacities than previous TP systems.
“Multiple ramps allow materials to be loaded
or unloaded from either front/back/side of the
platform, depending on requirements,” Gordon
says. “This feature allows the system to be
configured to additional variations which fit a
variety of jobsite configurations.”
“Our MCWPs and TPs work together to
provide the most efficient access ever,” Gordon
adds. “The transport platform can be seen as
an accessory to our MCWP in that it runs on
the same system. Expect to have additional
development in these systems to increase ease
of converting one to the other. This will help
with optimizing utilization so you can use the
majority of our MCWPs as transport platforms.
If you purchase a machine for one application,
you can convert it to another application for very
little expense.”
At ConExpo 2014, Stros introduced a
prototype of a 20-foot-long construction hoist
that runs on an extended type of tower that is
650 x 900 mm. The unit is counterweighted
and has a capacity of 10,000 pounds. It was
developed in response to inquiries coming from
New York.
“We are also dealing with multiple inquiries
for dual mast units,” Susa says. “We have
received multiple orders for explosion proof
industrial elevators this year.”
And for Hydro Mobile, the company unveiled a
swivel bridge that offers 180 degrees of rotation
and can be installed on the M Series of mast
climbing work platforms.
Overall, with new products, education and
industry acceptance, most everyone and every
company is optimistic about next year.
“It will be a growing market,” Gordon says.
Safway says acquisitions and organic
expansion into five major metro markets
from 2012-2014 afforded the company the
largest North American hoisting fleet.
