IC TOWER INDEX
The largest tower crane in the Sarens
fleet list is a Wilbert WT 2405L. Oxford
Building Supllies in Canada has moved up
an impressive 18 places and is listed just
outside the top 20.
There have also been some fleet
reductions recorded in this year's table. All
Erection and Crane Rental, for example,
has reduced its tower crane fleet by 10,
pushing its Index down 30 % from 42,055
in 2012 to 29,350 in 2013. The company’s
largest crane is now a Potain MR605B.
New entries this year are BKL Baukran
Logistics, which enters the table in 14th
with an Index of 34,714 and Tiong Woon
which also enters the top twenty with
an Index of 26,591. A new entry outside
the top twenty is Smith Crane and
Construction, from New Zealand, which
comes in at 26 with an

of 2,983.

n this year’s
IC
Tower Index Shanghai
Pangyuan Machinery Rental in China
still holds the top of the table with an
Index of 369,544 – an increase 16 per cent
from last year’s figure. Pangyuan has added
279 tower cranes to their fleet since 2012,
increasing their fleet size to 1,826 units.
Tat Hong Holdings in Singapore has
also increased its fleet with an additional
117 tower cranes, bringing its Tower
Crane Index up to 168,187. It remains in
6th place with an overall increase of 23 %
from last year’s figure.
The remaining top 10 companies in this
year’s table have all remained in the same
place as last year, with NFT (Nouman
Fouad Trading) still in second and
Arcomet in third place. Outside the top

24.4 % from 40,356 in 2012 to 50,204,
while AmQuip has entered this year’s table
with an
IC
Tower Index of 45,449, up
3 % from last year’s figure. Locabens has
moved up the table six places into 18th,
having increased by 22 % from 22,250 in
2012 to 27,200 in 2013.
Other fleet expansion outside the
top ten includes Sarens. With 12 tower
cranes added to its fleet, its Index has
increased by 10 % from 26,597 to 29,291.

IC TOWER INDEX 2013
In a similar way to the main IC50 Index,
companies that own and/or rent out tower
cranes are ranked by their IC Tower Index.
Reflecting the widespread use of the tonne-
metre rating method, the index is calculated
by adding together the maximum load
moment rating, in tonne-metres, of all tower
cranes in a company’s fleet.
Where companies supply the full data
the figure used is calculated by them. In
some cases, where no data is submitted, or
is incomplete, we have based a company’s
equipment fleet figure on IC estimates.
Like the main IC50 listing the IC Tower
Index will be updated in the first quarter of
