in Danville, Virginia. According to the owner, the crane still runs and the truck only has 11,000 miles on the

DERRICK
DEAKINS
has been
promoted to
president at
lifting provider
Bishop Lifting
Products in the USA.
Prior to joining Bishop,
Deakins held senior finance
and engineering positions
at Shell Oil Company and
Hewlett Packard, a company
spokesperson said.
Otis Dufrene, CEO at SBP
Holdings, parent company of
Bishop Lifting Products, said,
“Derrick joined Bishop Lifting
Products as chief financial officer
in 2007 and was appointed chief
operating officer earlier this
year. He has been instrumental
in the development and
execution of both our tactical
as well as our strategic plans
and is a valuable part of our
executive management team.”

DAVID RODRIGUES
has been
made chief executive officer at
lifting and transport service
provider Makro
Engenharia in
Brazil.
His
previous
position at the
company was
commercial director. In his new
role, Rodrigues will help develop
the company and strengthen its
brand in the market.
Rodrigues has wide
experience with cargo lifting
and transportation and has been
working with Makro since 1995.

The Association of Equipment
Manufacturers (AEM) in the USA
has elected
TIFFANY SEWELL-
HOWARD
as director of the CE
sector on the AEM board.
Sewell-Howard was chief
executive officer at Charles
Machine Works, in Perry,
Oklahoma.
The role of an AEM board
member is to work on behalf of
all AEM member companies to
provide guidance for Association
services, activities and
programmes.

Yanmar
and JCB
diesel engine
distributor
Power
Equipment, USA,
has appointed
MARK CRITCHLEY
as the
industrial equipment manager
for Washington and Northwest
Territories and Canada.
In his new role, Critchley
will be responsible for both
the Yanmar and JCB brands
of diesel engines. Prior to this
appointment Critchley worked
in a similar role for 14 years
for a competing company, a
company spokesperson said.
“In my previous role I used
to come up against the Yanmar
brand all the time,” Critchley
observed, continuing that, “It is
such a strong brand which has
an extremely solid reputation
for quality and durability. To
now be in the position to call
on dealers, OEM customers
and end users throughout
Washington representing
Yanmar, is a privilege.”
