Safety equipment
manufacturer Brigade
Electronics, UK, has launched
a camera system that can
display 360 degree views.
The Smarteye 360 degree
camera system is aimed
at haulage, construction
and mining industries. The
system consists of four
cameras, which can be
placed around the vehicle.
The images are displayed
as a single view on a high
definition monitor, providing
the driver with a bird’s eye
view of the surrounding area,
the manufacturer said. Each
camera has an ultra-wide
angle lens and videos are
displayed in real time.
Brigade Electronics will
showcase the Smarteye
system alongside a range
of products, including the
Backeye range of heavy duty
cameras and monitors and
the white sound reversing
alarm, at the Bauma Africa
construction equipment
exhibition, 18 to 21 September
2013 in Johannesburg,
South Africa.

Lightweight hydraulic torque
wrench new from Enerpac
Enerpac, a manufacturer of
high-pressure hydraulics, has
launched a new lightweight
torque wrench pump, the
TQ700.
The TQ700 has been
engineered to meet torque
applications in the wind turbine
industry. It delivers 50 % faster
bolting and improves the flow
rate across the entire bolting
cycle, the manufacturer said.
The pump can be used in
remote, low or generator-
powered erection sites.

Safety service provider for the crane and construction industry, Pacific
Systems Solutions, has released a new Generation Five model of
the HookCam, a camera designed for tower cranes, crawler and
gantry cranes.
The HookCam can be directly
attached to the hook block of a
crane. It provides the operator
with an aerial view, helping the
operator to communicate better
with the rigger. It also helps
the operator see the pace and
swing of the load, a company
spokesperson said. The video
is wirelessly transmitted to the
operator in the cabin.

V.ply technology
heavy-duty forklifts.
Most of the tyres use V.ply
technology where the tyre is
made using a weaving pattern
of multiple cords and 20 layers
of cross-ply fibre woven into
three separate wire beads. This
allows the sidewalls to be three
times thicker than those used
in radial tyres.
