Industry first
The first International Rental Conference in China will take place on
14 October and support from the global industry has been strong.
T
he day before the BICES
show kicks off, the inaugural
International Rental Conference
(IRC) will also take place at the Swissôtel
in central Beijing, China.
Aiming to provide a high level forum
for discussion, debate and networking for
the world’s equipment rental industry,
the event will have a special focus on
the emerging rental markets of China
and wider Asia, and has enjoyed strong
support from the global rental industry.

Kneeland will be the keynote speaker at
the conference, with Loxam CEO Gérard
Déprez also speaking.
Supported by the International
Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and
the Construction Equipment Association
(CEA), the conference is organised by

sister publication
International Rental
News
(
IRN
) together with KHL, the
publisher of both magazines.
The CEA will use the event to showcase
UK-made construction equipment to Asia and China’s rental
sector.
The conference also has the support of the Machinery
Management & Rental Division of the China Construction
Industry Association (CCIA). Indeed, the division’s managing
director, Jia Li Cai, will open the conference.
Presentations will highlight the development of China’s rental
sector and the role of equipment manufacturers in the industry.
Speakers will come from established rental companies in mature
markets as well as leading players in China.
In addition to Mr Kneeland and Mr Déprez, speakers include
Jay Early (vice president, Europe/China for Hertz Equipment
Rental Co), Bud Howard (global rental director at Volvo Rents)
and Nick Sowden (president at Snorkel Asia).
Chinese speakers include Chai Zhao Yi, managing director of
Shanghai Pangyuan Construction Equipment Rental, China’s
largest rental company, and Wang Li Chun, chairman of
Xuzhou Gongli Road and Bridge Construction Machinery Co,
a mid-size rental company based in Xuzhou.
A first in China
IRC will be the highest profile rental event ever held in Asia
and the first time that the CEOs of the largest rental companies
in North America and Europe have appeared together at
a conference. It will act as a forum for the worldwide and
Asian rental community, providing high-level advice on rental
management and business trends.
