Liebherr simülatörleri (LiSIM) serisinde
gemiden karaya portal vinçler, lastik tekerlekli
portal vinçler, mobil liman vinçleri ve açık
deniz vinçleri için simülatörler mevcut.
Simülatörler, tam yüksek çözünürlüklü, düz
ekranlı monitörler ve yüksek kaliteli, çok
hoparlörlü çevresel ses sistemi ile donatılmakta.

Schwärzler, hareketli operatör platformunun
da gerçek hayattaki hareketleri yansıttığını
söylüyor ve ekliyor: “Aynı zamanda,
operatörün baş hareketlerini takip ederek,
görüş sahasını otomatik olarak değiştiren
baş takip sistemine yer veriyoruz.”

karşısında,
eğitim
hizmetleri
sunan
kuruluşların büyük kısmı, simülatörleri de
eğitim programlarına eklemeye yöneliyor.
Örnek gösterebileceğimiz OETIO, mobil
vinçler simülatörlerinden, rüzgâr türbini
montaj simülatörlerine kadar çeşitli olanakları
eğitimprogramlarına dahil ediyor. Manitowoc
firmasının eğitim çalışmalarıyla ilgilenen
birimi Manitowoc Crane Care ise, Shady
Grove / ABD’deki eğitim merkezinde gerçeğe
uygun simülasyon kabinleri kullanıyor.
John Alexander’a dönüyoruz: “Vinç
simülatörlerinde son yıllarda çok çarpıcı
ilerlemeler kaydedildi. Sadece birkaç yıl önce
kullanılan simülatörlerle bugünküler bile
birbirinden bütünüyle farklı. Eğitimlerde
gerçek vinç kullanımının azalacağını ve
simülatör uygulamalarının yaygınlaşacağını
düşünüyorum.”
Hans-Jörg Schwärzler ise, sektördeki
hızlı gelişmeden yola çıkarak, bir gün
gerçek vinç eğitimlerinin yerine tamamen
simülatörlerin geçebileceğine inanıyor.

A virtual world
As technology progresses, crane
simulators are becoming a popular choice
for operator training. Laura Hatton finds out
more. Since operator training for mobile and
tower crane operators was made mandatory
in Canada in 1982, crane-related fatalities
fell from 20% of all construction fatalities to
8.8%. Computer simulator training is a big
part of programmes.
Simon Hogg, application consultant
at TenStar Simulation, a manufacturer of
training simulators for the construction
industry, explains why, “Learning to operate
a crane for the first time can be a daunting
prospect, as well as a costly exercise for
the training provider. Through simulator
training students learn terminology, control
familiarisation, hand eye co-ordination skills
and they can return to the simulators and
practice certain areas they may feel weaker
in. The most significant benefit by far is that
mistakes can be made on a simulator, which
is not an option on an actual site.”
Simulators can also be used to train
a whole team, as Sebastien Loze, director
of marketing and partner sales at CM
Labs, manufacturer of Vortex Simulators,
says, “Teamwork cannot be taught in the
classroom but, with a simulated training
environment that incorporates multi-role-
playing [including lift planning, lifting and
reviewing], the operator, signalman and
rigger can all be trained together.”
Experienced operators can also benefit
from simulators, as Hans-Jörg Schwärzler,
marketing for maritime cranes at Liebherr-
Werk Nenzing in Austria explains, “A major
benefit of simulator training is the ability to
simulate harsh environmental conditions,
such as snowfall, heavy winds, torrential rain
and high waves. This allows both experienced
operators and trainees to practice operating
in challenging conditions.”
John Alexander, global integrated
technical communications director at
Manitowoc Crane Care adds, “It is important
that people are re-evaluated to ensure that
they are capable of operating the latest
equipment. For example, someone who is
trained and certified on one of our older
Manitowoc 4100 crawler cranes might be an
excellent operator, but it does not mean they
can just step into an 18000 and know how it
all works.”
“The rapid development of simulation
indicates that it will one day be possible to
substitute actual crane training with simulator
training,” Schwärzler says.
