for the past nine
years, the most constant thing I do is thank people
for their help. There are so many people to thank
for helping me understand complicated jobs, equipment and
engineering processes that we write about each month. People
throughout North America share their resources and direct us
to who to call and where to go for the information we need. And
there’s the SC&RA’s entire team, who take our calls and emails
and help us dig out information we are searching for. For this
issue I’m thankful to so many people for many reasons. First of
all, this is our biggest issue ever.
In terms of editorial, we’ve never covered so much. We’ve got
our huge ConExpo Show Guide, our
SPECIALIZED
LIFTING
50
list and our SC&RA Specialized Transportation Symposium
Show Guide. Plus we’ve got three Site Reports; Regional Report
Midwest; Product Focus: Trailers; Roundtable: Permitting
Services; and all our regular columns and articles. Aside from
our
ACT
team whose ‘above and beyond’ efforts are always
appreciated, I owe a big thank you to all the communications
and marketing teams from the crane, trailer and equipment
manufacturers, plus the services providers, who we relentlessly
pestered for information and photos. These folks spent countless
hours putting together the information needed to make our Guide
to ConExpo the most comprehensive ever.
Another entity to single out is the Las Vegas Convention and
Visitors Authority, who supplied us with the cover photo of the
High Roller Observation Wheel. Taken by Brian Jones, Las Vegas
New Bureau, the photo was shot just a few days before we went to
press.
After a crazy month putting this huge magazine together,
I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone at ConExpo in
Las Vegas and then at the SC&RA Specialized Transportation
Symposium in Houston. Be sure to stop by the KHL Group booth
at ConExpo to visit and share your news. If we don’t see you at
