contactedabout aproject thatwould
involve two scopesofwork.
“The first scopeofworkwas to transport
four vessels fromvarious fabrication shops

our ScheuerleSelf PropelledModular
Transporters (SPMT),” Johnson said.
“Gulfex’soverheadgantry set thevessel
ontoour SPMTs andweproceeded to
move thepieceoutside. Thebenefit of
using these trailers is theyhave a lot of
powerpacked ina small frame,whichwas
perfect forwhatweneeded.”

hydraulicgantry system set up.
“Using thegantry,we lifted thevessel
freeof theSPMTs and trans-loaded it
ontoourGoldhoferTHP-DL trailers,”
Johnson said. “The transportwas set using

second scopeofworkwas to erect the four
vessels and set themon their respective
foundations.”
The transportation segment of the
job entailed “quite abit ofwork”
Johnson said, due to the sizeof the
fourpressurevessels. The largest of
the fourweighed805,430pounds and
measured145-feet-longandwas 16 feet

“The first vesselwe transportedwas
the smallest,whichwashauled in early
Septemberof 2013,” said Johnson. “This
vesselwas transported fromapaint shop
inSouthHouston. Itwas transported in
abolstered configurationusinga4-axle
RGN trailer in the front anda6-axle
dolly in the rear. Theoverall transport
dimensionswere160-feet, 6-inches
long, 10-foot, 3-incheswide and15-feet,
