such as the Middle East, South America
and Asia. According to the recent study
Global Construction 2025, more than 66%
of the global construction activity will be in
emerging markets by 2025.
Growth of powered access in emerging
markets will be supported by government
laws and regulations around safety and the
workplace. Productivity and the economic
benefits derived from such will also propel
higher adoption rates for powered access
use. In addition international construction
companies operating in emerging markets
will increasingly use the same equipment as
in their home countries to increase
productivity and comply with internal safety
standards. One of the growth drivers will
also be the ability of the powered access
industry to sell the benefits of powered access
equipment to the end user, just as was done
extensively decades ago in Europe and North
America.
Which companies will be successful in
grabbing the emerging opportunities? Those
that are able to understand what it takes to
operate on a global scale. Transitioning from
local to global as well as operating on multiple
continents requires a large shift in terms
of talent management, fleet management,
logistics and financing.

The UK market remains
tough, although rental
rates are generally stable.
The most successful
companies in 2014
will be those who can
adapt to meet the challenges of a market
where fewer major construction projects
are being undertaken and customers are
becoming increasingly sophisticated in their
requirements.
Powered access companies therefore have to
respond to customer expectations by offering
a modern, diverse and flexible hire fleet, by
providing a wide range of training sometimes
at short notice, and by looking after its
greatest asset - its staff. We have invested
heavily in our training business and as well as
providing accredited working at height courses
we now also offer a wide range of safety
related training at centres throughout the UK.
We are now guaranteeing delivery of over
2500 powered access machines from our rental
fleet within just 24 hours of an order.
We are promoting people at all levels of the
business in reward for their skills and hard
work and to enable us to take the business still
further forward.
