America and worldwide has been

The IPAF North American Convention 2014 will be held at the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport Hotel. It will start
on October 1 with a tour of the Skyjack facility in the afternoon and a networking event in the evening. It will
continue with a full-day convention on October 2, ending by 4 p.m.
Confirmed speakers include Brad Boehler, president of Skyjack, and Scott Owyen, training manager, Global
Marketing, Terex Aerial Work Platforms.

Sheet Metal Union
backs operator training
Several local chapters of the Sheet Metal Workers Union are actively
engaging in complete, consistent and compliant AWP operator training
and the value-added that the IPAF training program provides.
In an interview with the union magazine Partners in Progress, John
Nesta, training coordinator for Cleveland’s Local 33 Joint Apprenticeship
Training Committee (JATC), said, “The IPAF training is a definite upgrade
over what we were doing previously. After we were trained and approved
as instructors, we were all
amazed at what we thought we
knew and didn’t know. We know
we can reduce – and, hopefully,
eliminate – these gaps through
IPAF.”
Also enthusiastic about IPAF
is Pete Scaglione, financial
secretary-treasurer and training
coordinator for Local 137 JATC in
Long Island, NY, who said: “IPAF
is the best aerial training I’ve ever
seen, and it’s a great addition
to what we’ve been offering our
