Tackling attachment
vibration
V
iby Attachments is conducting a
12-month trial of new shock absorbing
blocks on all direct mount wheeled
loader buckets and quick hitches it supplies in
the UK. The new component is said to provide
operators with benefits including noise-
reduction, minimised bucket vibration and
reduced operator fatigue, as well as enhancing
the smooth-ride function already built into the
machines.

Cat’s third
material handler
Caterpillar has introduced its third new
generation material handler in the form of the
37.6 tonne MH3037 that features Cat’s patented
‘ground entry and exit’ step-in cab that lowers
to the front or the side of the machine that is
intended to enhance convenience and safety
for both operators and service personnel.
Power for the new machine comes from a Cat
ACERT C7 diesel that delivers 168 kW (225
hp) and features an electronically controlled,
mechanically actuated, unit-injector fuel
encases the plastic and is bolted
to the attachment roll-back
stops. Andrew Little, director of
Viby Attachment UK, said, “The
anti-vibration block is a relatively new
addition following its development by
our team in Denmark. Up until now though,
we’ve fitted them only as optional extras. We

system that uses multiple-injection fuel
delivery to provide optimum power and
economy across all applications.
According to the company, its new
material handlers are purpose built to work
productively and durably in industrial scrap
recycling, millyard and waterway applications.
Along with an 8.8 m (29 ft) boom, the MH3037
can be equipped with a short 6m (9.6 ft) or
long 7.2 m (23.5 ft) front configuration to allow
the machine to be tailored to the application.
As a result of popular demand, Allu has
developed a ‘cartridge’ drum replacement
system for its DL range of screening and
aerating buckets, allowing customers to change
processing drums with minimal fuss. Patented
rear mounted drums mean that the complete
drum and bearing assembly can be removed and
replaced, allowing customers to adapt their
bucket to suit different conditions and jobs. The
Allu DL series includes a range of 15 to 50 mm
(0.7 to 2 inch) screening and aerating buckets
to fit 2 to 12 tonne excavators, telehandlers and
skid steers. Applications include fine screening,
aeration and homogenising consolidated
materials such as soil or clay for backfill.
The complete range of Allu attachments for
screening, crushing, shredding and aerating
covers plant from 2 tonne mini-diggers to
100 tonne face shovel excavators working as
primary crushers in quarries.
