COMPACT CRUSHING

Evolution
in action
T
he need to provide customers with
machines that are efficient – whether
through their engines or the way they
operate – continues to be at the forefront of
manufacturers’ minds, and new products this
year reflect that desire.
Anaconda Equipment has introduced its
largest machine to date in the shape of the
SR514 screen with a 4.3 x 1.5 m (14 x 4.9 ft)
triple or double deck screen with a 4.3 m
(14.1 ft) hopper, main conveyor and either
three or four hydraulically folding stockpiling
conveyors.
At almost 29 tonnes in triple deck
configuration, the new unit is powered by
a Cat 4.4 diesel developing 75 kW
(110 hp). According
to Anaconda, it is easy to set up and can
be running in 45 minutes from arrival on
site with hydraulics used to aid set-up of all
conveyors, screenbox and landing legs.
The SR 514 features variable speed control
to allow the belt speed to be set to suit all
applications, and the screenbox can be set
at an angle of between 20° and 34° to ensure
maximum screening efficiency. A remote
tipping grid on the hopper comes as standard
to scalp large material pieces off and the
screenbox has a fully access walkway to help
with any maintenance.
HARD PROCESSING
BHS-Sonthofen’s rotor centrifugal crushers
of the RSMX series are for processing hard
and medium-hard rock to produce aggregate
chippings and high-quality aggregates.
The company said the rock-on-rock
principle and the patented rotor with just two
centrifugal chambers offered considerable
advantages over multi-chamber rotors in
everyday practice.
It said that the requirements for concrete
and asphalt – and therefore on the gravel,
chippings and sand used for their production
– had risen in recent years. Since demand for
high-grade crushed sand and high-quality
aggregates was also constantly rising, gravel
and aggregate plants have had to expand
and equip their machine pools in order to
meet the European standards and directives
