including a rotor for surface preparation and
work inside pipes, a single lance with a 1.5 m
(4.9 ft) front scroud for surface removal and
an hydraulically operated articulated arm with
a reach up to 4 m (13.2 ft).

Merlo has showcased its auto-levelling stabilisation
technology as well as energy saving systems on its
latest telescopic handler models – the Roto 40.18
S and Panoramic 50.8. The Roto 40.18 S is a 13
tonne model that can reach to 18 m (59 ft) and
carry a maximum load of 4 tonnes. It is fitted with
the company’s automatic levelling and stabilisation
technology, which is said to increase the safety of
the machine. Meanwhile, the Panoramic 50.8 is an
8.8 tonne machine that can lift up to 5 tonnes and
features a maximum lift height of 8 m (26.3 ft). This
machine boasts a new, hydrostatic transmission
that is said to increase performance and reduce fuel
consumption.
A
quajet has introduced what it says is
the world’s smallest hydrodemolition
robot for applications in confined
areas, such as concrete sewer pipes in urban
locations, small tunnels and inside buildings
with restricted space. Just 2 m (6.6 ft) long,
0.8 m (2.6 ft) wide and 1 m (3.3 ft) tall and
weighing 1,000 kg (2,200 lb), the new robot
can pass through a standard door and operate
inside a concrete pipe, on vertical, horizontal
or overhead surfaces.
The Aqua Cutter 410 typically works at
between 700-2,500 bar pressure and 60-180
litres/min, and will cope with most concrete
removal tasks on floors, walls and overhead
Expansion plans
Turkish manufacturer Hidromek plans to expand its facilities as a result of strong
business growth. Marketing manager Arda Güven said the company had bought 405
hectares of land near its current manufacturing facilities in Ankara for future expansion.
“We aim to grow into a full line producer, and will build a big production facility there,
but are still discussing which machines we will produce. We are seeing increased
demand for higher tonnage excavators from the marble quarrying and mining sectors,
but also increased interest in compact machines. We are also the dealer for Yanmar
mini excavators in Turkey and have seen a definite increase in demand on this end too,”
said Arda at the Komatek exhibition in Ankara, Turkey.
He was optimistic on future prospects in the Turkish market, given the number of
large infrastructure projects planned in the coming years. “The Turkish government
has also declared that it will seek to use Turkish brands as far as possible for these
infrastructure projects,” he said.
Hidromek showed its high reach excavator at the recent show in Ankara and is
currently the only Turkish manufacturer with one in its range.
