INTERMAT
40
Paris launches
be shown at Intermat mounted on a two-axle Isuzu chassis. It
features an S6 open circuit pumping unit, with 200 x 1000
mm cylinders and a 250 litre hopper.
An interesting new specialisedmachine from the
company is Coguaro, a low profile 4m
3
capacity
mixer truck designed for low-headroom off-road
applications like tunnelling andmining.
It features an electrically operated hydraulic
transmission, a hydraulic pump and two
hydraulic engines mounted directly on the axles
for maximum traction, reliability and minimum
fuel consumption. Meanwhile, four driving and
steeringwheels and a sturdy frame ensure high agility.
Safety features include an infra-red rear-view camera, and
sensors to detect objects and obstructions.
Another innovative truckmixer on the Cifa stand will be the
Energya E9 hybridmodel. This features and electrically rotated
drum, poweredby lithium ionbatteries that recharge fromwaste
energy that is captured during road travel. As well as reducing
fuel consumption by as much as -30%, Cifa says this system
also contributes to lower noise levels, and is useful in emissions-
sensitive applications such as tunnelling.
TheE9offers a9m
3
drum, andan8m
3
version is alsoavailable.
Also new in the 9 m
3
drum class is the SL9. Cifa says it has
been designed to meet European requirements for a compact
machine, without compromising volumes, simplemaintenance,
safety and other key factors.
Meanwhile, Cifa will use the show to unveil new models in
its Carbotech range of truck-mounted
placing booms, which use carbon fibre
for a number of sections. The company is
adding twonewmodels to take the range
from four to sixmachines.
New at Intermat will be the 53 m
reach K53H and 60 m K60H, which
can be mounted on 4 and 5 axle trucks
respectively.
The K53H has five-section boom,
with the final two made out of carbon
fibre. The K60H has six sections, again
with the two final ones in carbon fibre.
Cifa says the use of carbon fibre helps
cut down on the dead weight of the
boom, reducing fuel consumption when
travelling between sites, and/or allowing
more accessories tobe loadedonto the truck.
New from
Peri
is the Maximo platform
system, which is for use with its Trio range
of wall and slab formwork. This is
designed to provide a safe working area on
the formwork.
Another safety system on display at Intermat
will be the lateral guardrail for use with Peri’s
Gridflex slab formwork system, a range of
lightweight aluminium products. Similarly, the
company is now offering new guardrail units for the
Skydeck slab formwork range.
At the lighter end of its range, is the new 1.5 m high
Domino panel, which Peri says is more suited to applications
such as sleeve foundations, parapets and swimming pools than
the shorter panels in the range. There is also anew350mmwide
panel in the range.
Peri’s range of Ergo props will see the addition of five new
tubular steel units at Intermat, the largest of whichhas
a load bearing capacity of 50 kN.The company has
alsomade changes to theprops in itsPeriUpRosett
Flex range of modular scaffolding, which means
they can now be used as heavy-duty props with a
system for hydraulic lowering built-in.
Also in the Rosett Flex range are new integrated
safety features on theMDS shoring tower range. A
new platformmeans workers can stand in the centre
of the towerwhile assembling anddisassembling it, and
there is a guardrail systemwhich goes up in advance of
new sections being added.
In the company’s range for civil engineering applications,
there are additions to the Variokit range which allow it to be
used to build truss girders and shoring towers.Meanwhile, new
longitudinal components for the systemmean cantilevers of up
to 5.75m can also be built.

New configurations in
Cummins
’ QSF engine series will be on
show, focused on simplified installation packages intended for
rental equipment applications across the 37 to 55 kW power
range.
The non-charge air cooling (CAC) version of the 2.8 litre
QSF has an upgraded fuel injection and
combustion system. It is available at 49
hp and 65 hp (37 and 48 kW) ratings.
Also new is the QSF3.8, which will be
available at a 55 kW with a “fit and
forget”Cumminsdieseloxidationcatalyst
(DOC) to bring the same service-free
after treatment advantage provided by its
smaller counterpartQSF2.8 engine.
This aftertreatment downsizing will
allow equipment positioned in the 75
to 90 hp (56 to 67 kW) category to
eliminate the need for a more complex
selective catalytic reduction (SCR) or
Cumminswill have a focus on some of the
latest emissions-compliant versions of
its smaller engines.
Volvo Penta
will show new
5 and 8-litre
engines. They are
available in Stage
IV-compliant
versions as
well as at lower
emissions levels,
such as this
model.
FPT’s standwill include its range-
topping Cursor 16 engine.
