INTERMAT
Paris launches
diesel particulate filter (DPF) system, the
manufacturer said.
Deutz
will be showcasing its latest
2.9 to 7.8 litre capacity diesel engines,
including the TCD 7.8. The company
said the specifications of the series would
be capable of meeting proposed Stage V
emissions standards. It said that its move
to prepare for future guidelines would
allow greater long-term planning for its
customers, with a new Stage V Ready
logo branding displayed on its latest
range.
Volvo Penta’s
Intermat stand will
feature twonewlydesigned engines in the
5-litre D5 and 8-litre D8, alongside its
wider range.The companywill be sharing
a stand in Hall 6 with sister companies
Volvo Construction equipment and
VolvoTrucks, andwill have a Stage IV11
litre engine on display as well as theD5 andD8.
The new engines are available in Stage IV-compliant versions
using selective catalytic reduction (SCR), but Volvo Penta also
supplies Stage II and Stage IIIA versions for lesser regulated
markets than Europe. But regardless of their emissions
performance, the company says all its engines share a common
footprint, with components like the turbocharger located in
the same place on all models—making design and installation
easier forOEMs.
FPT Industrial
will bedisplaying itsR22 andCursor 16 engines
– its smallest andbiggest solutions for theworldof construction.
Claiming service intervals of up to 600 hours, the R22 is able
to comply withTier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emission regulations
through FPT Industrial’s maintenance-free aftertreatment
solution, specifically developed to achieve emission levels
required for power outputs below 56 kW.
Meanwhile the flagship Cursor 16 is said to deliver 18-litre
performance in a 13-litre package. Meeting Stage IV emissions
standards thanks to the patented HI-eSCR system, the engine
delivers power outputs of up to 570 kWwithmaximum torque
of 3,320Nm. It is the first FPT Industrial engine to adopt a
compact graphite iron (CGI) cylinder head and is said to be
specifically suitable for large off-highwaymachines.
Yanmar
will feature its current TNV-CR series industrial
engines at this year’s showdisplayingmodels from its six families
within the range This includes a mix of
3- and 4-cylinder, direct injection water-
cooled diesels, which span 19 kw to 56
kw inpower. The entire series is said tobe
prepared for the introduction of Stage V
emissions regulations.
Meanwhile,
Kohler’s
latest KDI 3404
engine will be unveiled at Intermat,
promising a high-pressure common rail
injection system and an electronically-
controlled EGR valve for recirculating
exhaust gases. The company said its four
valves per cylinder design allows formore
efficient combustion, while reducing fuel
consumption and delivering enhanced
levels of power that are equivalent to
engines of a larger size.
In the drivetrain sector Dana will be
showcasing the results of ongoing field
tests of its VariGlide technology, a new
transmission design that incorporates continuously variable
planetary (CVP) technology.
Dana said VariGlide technology can replace the torque
converter in some transmission configurations to decouple
engine speed from the vehicle’s travel or working speed.
It said VariGlide technology would be offered as a pre-
assembledmoduleprovidinga standardpowersplit configuration
for forklift truck transmissions produced byOEMs.
Dana said it was also offering its Spicer PowerBoost hydraulic-
hybrid system for field testing by off-highway OEMs. It said
Spicer Powerboost hydraulic-hybrid technology was ideally
suited for hydrostatically driven drivetrains, which is whyDana
will feature it at Intermat as part of a complete drivetrain system
for a compact telescopic boom handler with 2.7 to 3.6 tonne
lifting capacity.
Camoplast Solideal
will use Intermat for the European launch
of a new range of skid steer loader tyres. The company says its
new premium range, comprising the SKS 732, SKS 775 and
SKS 793S, offer improved performance, durability and cost
savings.
The SKS 732 and SKS 775 are pneumatic tyres with a new
sidewall design the company says helps deflect debris away from
the tyre and improve side impact resistance. There is also an
increased tread depth for longer wear.
The SKS 793S meanwhile is a solid tire with a new tread
Kohler’s KDI 304
features a four valve
per cylinder design.

showing engines
it says are
ready for the
anticipated Stage
V emissions laws.
Dana said its new VariGlide had
demonstrated fuel economy
