Mixed inwith all theseunforgettable
at theLink-Belt breakfast. Seasoned
presenter,MarkMayfield, started the
morningoffwithhumor andpurpose
as hediscussed the critical aspects of
customer loyalty andhow theABCs
of humanbehaviorwill help youbring
customers back. Inhis interactive session,
Mayfield examined credibility, empathy,
reliability and responsiveness, andhow an
appreciation for these elements canhelp
companies consistentlyprovide genuine,
long-term customer service. Finding
commonground is the key,Mayfield
explained, becausedifferences dissolve
whenpeople choose tomove towardone
another, insteadof away.
FollowingMayfield at 1p.m. was Jeff
Jorge, ExecutivePartnerwithGlobal
Development Partners. Jorge shared
first-hand accounts, rare insights and
provenmethodologies in an effort to
showSC&RAmembers how to accelerate
their company’s growth into international
markets.His focused crowd took away
awealthof information and actionable
tools that canbe applied to future global

p.m. –wherehighly anticipated speaker,
DocHendley, set the stage for threedays
of unforgettablepresentations.Hendley’s
session–
Wine toWater
–detailed an
endeavor that started in2003when
he cameupwith the concept tobring
cleanwater topeople around theworld
while bartending andplayingmusic
innightclubs aroundRaleigh,North
Carolina. In2007, “WineToWater”
became anofficial 501 (c)(3) andhis
dreambecame a reality.Hendley’s
work aims tohelp the 1.1billionpeople
worldwidewho lack access to clean
water.His presentation emphasized the
importanceof staying true to your values
and your objectives –nomatter the
obstacles thatwill undoubtedly arise.
JimO’Connor (Milliman) followed
upHendley at 3:15p.m. withhiswell-
considered and timelypresentation:
