New SPMT 600
rolled out by PSC
transported on a standard
flatbed trailer.
“The SPMT is a game
changer for every plant
that needs to move heavy
equipment through small
entries and within narrow
passageways,” said Tommy
Morrison, PSC director and
senior project manager.

PSC has launched a new self-
propelled modular transporter.
The SPMT 600 is 30 3/8 inches
tall and 7 feet, 6 inches wide
and can transport up to 67.5
tons or 22.5 tons per axle line.
The SPMT 600 has pivoting
wheel assemblies to allow
the trailer to move forward,
backward and sideways,
according to the company.
The unit can also rotate 360
degrees without changing
its midpoint. It is operated
by remote control and has

Manitowoc crane
sales up in Q2
Sales in Manitowoc’s crane division increased 7.6 percent in the
second quarter of 2013. Second-quarter net sales were $656.9
million, up from $610.7 million in the second quarter of 2012.
Manitowoc said the increase was driven primarily by continued
growth in the Americas for crawler cranes, large rough terrains,
and from strong performance at Crane Care.
Operating earnings were $65 million, up 25 percent on the
$52 million of the same period of 2012. The operating margin
was 9.9 percent, up from 8.5 percent in the same period a year
before.
For the Manitowoc Company, including both the cranes and
foodservice divisions, sales were reported at $1.05 billion for
the second quarter of 2013, an increase of 5 percent on the
$997.2 million for the second quarter of 2012.
Manitex

revenue
Manitex International
posted record net sales of
$62.6 million and record
net income of $2.7 million
for the second quarter of
2013. The company posted
a 19.2 percent increase in
net revenue, up from $52.5
million in the second quarter
2012, and up 5 percent on
Q1, 2013 figures, where
revenue was $59.6 million.
Net income was up 15
percent to $2.7 million,
compared with $2.3 million
for the same period in 2012.

Manitex complete the

specialized trailer tanks for
liquid and solid storage and
containment solutions. The
purchase price was $14
million.
Modulift has launched its first modular spreader frame, the CMOD
Spreader Frame. The new frame is built using Modulift struts and
CMOD corner units, which are available in sizes from CMod6 up
to CMod70, a company spokesperson said. The design means that
existing spreader beams can be adapted into a frame by bolting on
the CMOD corner units. The frames have a capacity of 70 metric
tons and range from 0.5 meter square to 12 meters square. The
system has been designed to BS EN 13155 factors.
Terex crane sales increase
Terex reported a -5 percent
year-on-year drop in revenues
for the second quarter to $1.9
billion after gains in its aerial
work platform (AWP) and
cranes divisions were offset by
other declines.
Total operating income
stood at $85.3 million,
compared to $175 million in
the second quarter of 2012.
Terex said the figure was hit
by restructuring charges of
$65 million during the three
months to the end of June.
Terex Cranes, meanwhile,
reported +3 percent year-on-
year growth in revenues to
$521 million for the quarter,
but operating income dropped
to $23 million, compared to
$50 million in the second
quarter of last year. Terex said
while global markets were
softer than it had expected, it
had seen improved orders for
large crawler cranes.
Terex revised its full-year
forecast and now expects
to achieve total revenues
of between $7.5 billion and
$7.7 billion in 2013, down
from its previous estimate of
$7.9 billion to $8.3 billion.
The company’s total forecast
operating margin for the year
is between 6 percent and
7 percent, compared to its
previous outlook of between 7
percent and 8 percent.
