Transportation Partners &
Logistics has taken delivery
of the first Liebherr LTR 1220
telescopic boom crawler crane
in North America.
With a rated lifting capacity
242 tons and a 197-foot
telescopic boom, TP&L’s
new LTR 1220 is the largest
telescopic boom crawler crane
in the U.S., Liebherr said.
The crane was delivered to
TP&L’s rail distribution yard
in Garden City, Kansas, at
the end of July. It was put to
work unloading wind turbine
mast sections off rail cars and

PSS launches
HookCam system
Pacific Systems Solutions has
launched the Generation Five
model of the HookCam, a
camera system that attaches
directly to the hook block of a
crane and wirelessly transmits
a video stream to the operator
in the cabin.
HookCam gives operators
a live view from their hook’s
perspective, eliminating blind
spots and allowing crane
operators and riggers to work
more safely and efficiently.
The HookCam also allows the
operator to see the pace and
swing of the load, and gives
the operator more awareness
of the situation and potential
accidents.
New features for Generation
Five include an adaptable
mounting system, sleeker
design, more efficient battery,
solar charging and options for
black box recording.

Albacor Shipping
transported a 239-ton
transformer from New Orleans
to Mt. Vernon on a pink barge
to help fund cancer research. It
was then loaded onto a railcar
and transported to Lewis
Center, OH. The pink barge,
Big Hope 1, was constructed
by Ceres Barge Line to
raise awareness for cancer
research. Ceres will donate a
percentage of earnings to the
Mary Crowley Cancer Research
Center in Dallas.
