ATN
is taking its first steps
into the Asian market with Hong
Kong-based distributor, Advanced
Eco Engineering Ltd (AEE). AEE,
which specialises in the distribution
of aerial work platforms among
other products, is representing
France-based ATN in Hong Kong and
Macao. AEE has already sold its first
hydraulic vertical mast boom, the
PIAF 880R, to the MTR Corporation,
which operates the Hong Kong
railway.

General de Alquiler de
Maquinaria (GAM)
and Peruvian
heavy equipment rental and sales
company
Crosland Técnica
have
reached a ‘strategic agreement’ to
cooperate in Peru’s equipment rental

with Crosland would allow it to
participate in larger projects, with a
wider range of equipment to rent and
strengthened service and spare parts
network.

German lift manufacturer
Böcker Maschinenwerke
has
launched a new universal inclined
lift called Simply. It is designed for
fast assembly with construction and
furniture applications.
IN BRIEF
Manitou will install Deutz engines
in all its 6 to 7 m telehandlers for
agricultural use.
Starting in January 2014,
Manitou will equip its 6 to 7
metre-series, which features a
multi-function grab bucket, with the
Deutz 3.6 engine, which has been
developed specifically for use in
agricultural equipment.
The water-cooled 4-cylinder
series engine, with a capacity
range of 55.4 to 90 kW at 2,300
rpm, will reduce installation costs
for customers said Manitou. TCD
3.6 series engines are equipped
with the EGR modular exhaust gas
after-treatment system that can be
attached to the engine as an option,
which simplifies the integration of
the device.
Terex has manufactured its 1000th GS-4047 compact self-propelled
electric scissor lift at its Coventry factory in the UK.
Terex changes
tactics in China
Terex AWP has sidelined the
scissor and boom lifts it designed
for the Chinese market, launched
at Bauma China last year.
The company will now extend
its existing range of booms
and scissors at its subsidiary in
Changzhou, China which are
aimed at customers in the country
and Asia Pacific region.
The 12 m Genie V1200 boom
and 5 m push around Genie
PS500 scissor were introduced
as a low cost alternative for the
Chinese market with stripped
back features.
See the China feature starting
on page 19 for the full story.
APEX looms large
The eighth APEX aerial platform
exhibition will be held in
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on
24-26 June 2014, and promises to
be the biggest ever.
It will be moving away from its
long-time home in Maastricht to
the Amsterdam RAI exhibition
centre with new dates, which
organisers said would boost visitor
numbers and increase the show’s
international appeal.
Tony Kenter, managing director
of APEX organiser Industrial
Promotions International (IPI),
said the event had already
confirmed reservations for more
than 4000 square metres which
is over 70% of the anticipated
space inside the hall.There are
also applications for nearly 3000
square metres, which is about 65%
of the outside space, this is double
the size of the outside area of
Apex 2011.
Amsterdam RAI is the city’s
largest showground and one of
Europe’s best known exhibition
spaces. As well as being a world
class exhibition centre it will also
benefit APEX by offering the
larger outside exhibition area than
the previous venue in Maastricht.
All previous seven shows – the
first was in 1996 – have been held
in Maastricht in mid-September.
The new June dates mean that the
show will be held well before the
onset of summer holidays.
The switch to June will allow
APEX to be held concurrently
with the International Rental
Exhibition (IRE).
