introduced three new
material handlers and four-
tine grapples into theNorth
Americanmarket with the aim
of strengthening its position
in the solidwaste and scrap
handling sectors
m fixed riser is also available as anoption for
theDX225MH-3.
Fixed risers can easilybe lowered for
transportwith a self-contained, electronically
poweredhydraulic system.Available as an
option for theDX225MH-3 andDX300MH-5
is a2m (6.5 ft) hydraulic cab riser. This is
fitted as standard equipment for thewheeled
DX210WMH.
TAILORED POWER
Fourpowermodes are availableon the
DoosanDX225MH-3 andDX300MH-5 to
helpoperatorsmanage thebalanceof fuel
consumption andmachinepower to the
working conditions. The four selectablepower
modes include: Power+mode that delivers the
fastestworkgroup speeds andgreaterpower
for thosehighdemandingmaterialmoving
applications; Powermode that provides
exceptional power and superiorperformance
for toughheavy lifting, quick truck loading
and fast travel speed; Standardpowermode
that enhances themachine’s fuel consumption
whiledeliveringhighperformance in
everyday lifting andmovingofmaterial and
finallyEconomymode that helps reduce fuel
consumption for low-demand applications and
slowsdownmachinemovement for conditions
that requiremoreprecisemovements
TheDX210WMH is availablewith three
selectablepowermodes, namelyPower,
Standard andEconomy.
In addition to thepowermodes, the
DoosanDX225MH-3 andDX300MH-5
material handlershave a liftingworkmode
that provides increasedpump torque, low
engine rpm and an automaticpower boost.
Telematics is standard for all threeDoosan
material handlers and comeswith a three-
year subscription. The systemprovides
location information and a full rangeof
machineoperational information toowners,
theirdealer andDoosan. Information is
provided through a simpleuser interface,
accessibleonline via aweb-enabled computer
or smartphone. Thegoal is tohelpowners
monitor their equipment andmanage
maintenance to reduceoperating costs.
GRAPPLE ATTACHMENTS
Tomaximise their versatility andproductivity,
thenewmaterial handlers canbepairedwith
agrapple formaterial handling applications.
The360-degreehydraulic rotating four-tine
grapples feature a semi-closed tinedesign,
allowing a firmgrasponmostmaterials. The
tines aredesignedwithAR400high-strength,
abrasion-resistant steel for increaseddurability
and the tine tips are replaceable for easier
maintenance.

he first of the threenewDoosan
handlers launched inNorthAmerica
is theDX225MH-3material handler. It
was joinedby the trackedDX300MH-5 and a
wheeledmodel, theDX210WMH.
According toDoosan,material handlers
arenot new to the company, but this is the first
timeDoosan is buildingmachines specifically
designed formaterial sorting andhandling
applications. In thepast, dealers converted the
company’s trackedorwheeled excavators into
material-handlingmachines in response to
specific customer requirements.
BUILT FOR THE JOB
Doosanmaterial handlersweredeveloped
tomeet thedemands ofmaterial handling
professionals bydedicated, in-houseproduct
engineering support. Each is basedon a
proven and tested excavatormodel that has
been factory fittedwith cab risers for increased
visibility, a straight boom anddroopnose
arm for optimal performance and improved
machineguarding formaximumuptime.
Straight booms improve reach and lift height
for bettermaterial placement,whiledroop
nose arms providegoodgrapple clearance and
enhanced access into containers, trucks and
railcars. Features such asdual-boom cylinders
andunder-mount arm cylinderplacement
provide excellent lifting capabilities, says the
company.
Another commonly recognisedmaterial
handler feature is the cab riser that provides
operatorswithbetter all-aroundvisibility
to the attachment andwork area from the
material handler’s cab riser. Standard fixed
risers for theDX225MH-3 are1.2m (4 ft), and
1.8m (6 ft) for the largerDX300MH-5.A1.8
