SHOW GUIDE
CONEXPO
with the quick self-removing front and
rear outriggers. The second unit will be
rigged as a general purpose RT. Features
of the GR-1600XL-2 include the Tadano
exclusive asymmetrical multi-position
outrigger setup, automatic moment
limiter (AML-C), and the ECO-mode and
positive control systems that reduce fuel
consumption and CO2 emissions while
the crane is being operated or on stand-
by. A single cylinder 6-section 200.1-foot
boom and 59.1-foot bi-fold off-setting
jib provide a tip height of 256.6 feet, and
the cab-tilt system improves visibility at
extended reach. The Tadano HELLO-
NET system allows for monitoring crane
activity remotely via a computer or mobile
device.
“Introduced late last year, the 160-tonner
has received unprecedented market
acceptance in North America in the
form of many purchase orders,” said Ron
Dogotch, vice president of sales.
Other RTs at the Tadano
stand include the 100-ton
GR-1000XL-2, the 75-ton
GR-750XL-2, and the 15-ton
GR-150XL-1.
From the AT line, Tadano will
exhibit its new 450-ton ATF 400G-
6 and the popular 250-ton ATF
220G-5.
“The ATF 400G-6 is another
best-of-class crane from Tadano,”
said Dogotch. “This crane has the
capacity, reach, safety features and
ease of operation not found in most
ATs on the market. This crane was
designed to beat the competition
in every arena and it lives up to our
claim.”
New from
TADANO MANTIS, GOLD LOT
2101
, is the 130-ton capacity GTC‐1200
telescopic crawler. It will be the largest
capacity crane in the Tadano Mantis
product range and “represents the first
blank sheet design since Mantis was
acquired by Tadano in 2008,” according
to Ed Hisrich, vice president, sales and
customer support.
The concept behind the development
of the GTC‐1200 was to design and
build a telescopic boom crawler crane
that meets the requirements of the power
transmission, bridge and civil, and
foundation construction markets, while
expanding the broader appeal of the crane
toward lift crane markets.
While the GTC-1200 design was
managed by the Tadano Mantis
engineering team in Franklin, TN, the
crane is a collaboration of the engineering
teams of Tadano LTD and Tadano Faun
Gmbh and utilizes the strengths of each
group while maintaining Tadano Mantis’
core competencies, the company said.
The full-power, 5‐section, 42.1-foot to
155-foot boom was designed to perform
well for lift work, while also being
capable of out‐of‐level, pick‐and‐carry,
and foundation work. The main boom
is complemented with a jib system that
includes a 12.5-foot heavy lift jib with a
maximum capacity of 44 tons, which is
part of the standard bi‐fold jib that has
lengths of 33.9 feet/59 feet. There are also
optional 23-foot lattice insert (max 2)
sections. The entire jib system can offset
at 0, 20 and 40 degrees, and when fully
erected, gives a maximum tip height of
269 feet.
TEREX CRANES, GOLD LOT 1047
, is expected
to show off a variety of new and upgraded
cranes, although the company has been
reluctant to reveal the exact cranes that
will be exhibited.
One Terex model that will have people
talking is the SuperLift 3800 crawler crane
that will be exhibited in an even larger
configuration than at Bauma. According
to Terex, the new SuperLift has been
designed to redefine performance in the
650-ton capacity class and is a more than
worthy successor to the well-known
Terex CC 2800-1.
Requiring up to 30 percent less
counterweight for long boom erection
and complete with new-style cabin
and the Terex fall protection system,
the SuperLift has a maximum lift
capacity of 650 metric tons at 12 meters
and a maximum hook height of 190
meters. Maximum load moment is
8,426 metric tons. All the crane’s
components weigh less than 40
metric tons and are below 3 meters in
width and height to facilitate ease of
transportation.
“With its focus on
innovation, capacity and
productivity – and especially
in the configuration we have
planned – the SuperLift 3800
promises to be one of the highlights of
ConExpo,” said Rüdiger Zollondz, director
of product marketing for Terex Cranes.
“It continues the well-established Terex
tradition of helping customers to deliver
the results that matter – jobs that are on
time, on budget and to specification.”
Visitors wanting to see something
brand new at the Terex stand will not
be disappointed. At least two Terex
cranes will be making their debut,
including a new, mid-size all-terrain
crane that was designed specifically for
the North American market, and a new
“class-defining” truck-mounted crane,
Terex said. All cranes are designed with
customer needs in mind and will help
them to deliver success.
In the RT class, Terex will show its
75-ton capacity Quadstar 1075L. The
crane features a five- section 41.8-meter
boom giving a maximum hook height of
43 meters.
At
ZOOMLION/GLOBAL CRANES, SILVER LOT
3554
, you will be able to see the RT40,
RT65, RT80 and RT110. Designed in the
U.S., the Zoomlion/Global rough terrain
line is ANSI certified and features the
lowest pricing in the industry, according to
the company.
A new launch for Zoomlion is the 65-ton
RT65 with a 27-foot-longer boom, higher
maximum tip height, and a significantly

The new 130-ton capacity GTC-1200
will be the largest telescopic
crawler in the Tadano Mantis line.
Terex is expected to launch at least two
new models, including a “class defining
truck-mounted” crane.
Zoomlion/Global’s new
RT65 will be on display.
